The Data Protection Principles
This Policy aims to ensure compliance with the Regulation. The Regulation sets out the following principles with which any party handling personal data must comply. All personal data must be:
a) processed lawfully, fairly, and in a transparent manner in relation to the data subject;
b) collected for specified, explicit, and legitimate purposes and not further processed in a manner that is incompatible with those purposes; further processing for archiving purposes in the public interest, scientific or historical research purposes or statistical purposes shall not be considered to be incompatible with the initial purposes;
c) adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary in relation to the purposes for which it is processed;
d) accurate and, where necessary, kept up to date; every reasonable step must be taken to ensure that personal data that is inaccurate, having regard to the purposes for which they are processed, is erased or rectified without delay;
e) kept in a form which permits identification of data subjects for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which the personal data is processed; personal data may be stored for longer periods insofar as the personal data will be processed solely for archiving purposes in the public interest, scientific or historical research purposes or statistical purposes subject to implementation of the appropriate technical and organisational measures required by the Regulation in order to safeguard the rights and freedoms of the data subject;
f) processed in a manner that ensures appropriate security of the personal data, including protection against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage, using appropriate technical or organisational measures.
The Rights of Data Subjects
The Regulation sets out the following rights applicable to data subjects:
a) The right to be informed; Meaning you have to right to know whether your Personal Data is being processed; what data is gathered, from where it is obtained and why and by whom it is processed.
b) The right of access; meaning you have the right to access the data collected from/about you. This includes your right to request and obtain a copy of your Personal Data gathered.
c) The right to rectification; Meaning you have the right to request rectification or erasure of your Personal Data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
d) The right to erasure (also known as the ‘right to be forgotten’); Meaning in certain circumstances you can request for your Personal Data to be erased from our records.
e) The right to restrict processing; Meaning where certain conditions apply, you have the right to restrict the Processing of your Personal Data.
f) The right to data portability; Meaning you have the right to obtain your Personal Data in a machine-readable format or if it is feasible, as a direct transfer from one Processor to another.
g) The right to object; Meaning in certain cases you have the right to object to Processing of your Personal Data, for example in the case of direct marketing.

e) Email Address – for communication purposes and to assist with our day to day duties effectively.
